Having tried more than 30 cases in state and federal courts, in matters ranging from conspiracy to defraud the United States to aggravated murder, Todd brings a broad range of experience to the McNees White Collar Defense Law & Internal Investigations and Litigation Practice Groups.

Todd primarily represents companies, public officials, health care providers and teachers who are subjects of state or federal investigations and prosecutions involving the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, the U.S. Justice Department, and county prosecutors in Ohio.  He also assists clients who are subject to regulatory inquiries and investigations by state and federal agencies including: the Ohio Auditor of State; the Ohio Inspector General’s Office; the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; the Immigration and Customs Enforcement; and the Drug Enforcement Administration.  In addition, he has experience representing clients in state and federal courts of appeals.


Co-representation with McNees attorney Karl Schneider in public corruption and fraud case which was dismissed pending the client’s successful completion of a 15-month diversion program.

Representation in multi-million-dollar health care and tax fraud case which resulted in a plea agreement for a sentence less than half of what was likely to be received.

Representation in aggravated burglary case which was dismissed based on alibi evidence proffered by the defense.  The case was later sealed by the Court on the defense’s motion.

Representation in felonious assault trial cases which resulted in acquittals based on self-defense.

Representation in aggravated vehicular homicide case filed after deadly crash.  Following a defense investigation, the Franklin County Coroner’s Office changed the cause of death from “accidental” to “natural,” resulting in the dismissal of all homicide charges.

Representation in fund embezzlement case.  Client received shorter sentence than what was recommended under sentencing guidelines.

Representation in domestic violence and assault trial cases which resulted in acquittals.

Co-representation in murder and robbery trial case.

Representation in sexual battery trial case which was later sealed by the Court on the defense’s motion.
