Carol Steinour Young represents and advises clients in complex litigation matters, including intellectual property, business, class action, and other commercial disputes. As a member of the Firm’s Litigation, Intellectual Property, Injunction, and Labor and Employment Groups, Carol is part of a team of professionals who routinely handle claims involving trademark and copyright infringement, trade secret, non-competition, entity control, corporate governance, and breach of contract. Carol has defended clients in nationwide wage and hour collective/class actions. Carol has significant first chair trial experience, having tried over 50 cases before a jury, judge, tribunal, or arbitration panel.
Carol works closely with the McNees Wallace & Nurick Intellectual Property team to provide an integrated approach to counseling, transactions, and litigation. She is regularly involved in protecting all types of intellectual property, including trademarks, trade dress, copyrights, trade secrets, and confidential information. The McNees litigation team protects our clients’ IP, (trademarks, patents, copyright, and trade secrets) from infringement and theft, and defends against claims brought by competitors. The McNees Intellectual Property practice spans a wide range of industries. Along with members of our Injunction Practice Group, Carol has a wealth of experience in handling injunctions and other emergency litigation proceedings.
Carol is Chair of the McNees e-Discovery team which provide counseling on a variety of issues, including early case assessment and document management in litigation and regulatory matters.
Carol has appeared as a featured speaker before various audiences on topics including litigation management, trademark protection, trade secrets, injunction practice, and expert testimony.
