As a member of the McNees Real Estate and Oil & Gas Practice Groups, Esch focuses his practice on land use matters and assists his clients in reaching favorable zoning and land development outcomes. In that capacity, he assists commercial developers, large-scale residential developers, educational institutions, midstream oil and gas companies, telecommunication companies, small business owners, and start-ups by navigating them through land use requirements and regulations set at the local, county, state, and federal levels.

Esch enjoys speaking engagements on all land use matters.  His most recent speaking engagements include:

  • Guest lecturer at the Penn State Dickinson School of Law on land use matters related to start-ups and small businesses.
  • For Penn State Extension and the planners, solicitors, and municipal leaders in attendance, a webinar on the effects of Reed v. Town of Gilbert with respect to sign codes and ordinances.

While in law school, Esch served as a Senior Editor of the Penn State Law Review, was the Dickinson School of Law Liaison to the Carlisle Borough Council, Carlisle, PA, and was a judicial intern to the Honorable Christopher C. Conner, U.S. District Court.  Prior to his legal career, Esch spent seven years working in the claims department of a Fortune 500 insurance company.

Esch, his wife, and their three children reside in Carlisle, PA.
